How to register?

Anyhow on to the actual tweeting.  As stated before my name is already in use so I must register something else.  Lets give it a try shall we. 

Go here to register.  https://twitter.com/signup

The name I registered is "0078265317".  They said you can change it any time.

Anyhow after registering you get an email.

"Confirming your account will give you full access to Twitter and all future notifications will be sent to this email address."

Be sure to open a new window or tab when checking your email so not to disturb the current window.  This is when you'll set up your twitter account.   I accidentally closed the intro page and saw no way to get it back.  So I created a new account as it is allowed most say.  I now learned what to do.  I will delete this account as I no longer need it. So first we will go over how to delete an account.  It appears you cannot delete an account just deactivate it.  So I will keep the other account.  No big deal. Now to setup the account.  First after registering you end up at https://twitter.com/welcome/intro incase you loose your tab or window.  If you do just go back there anytime and restart again.   Now here is how it looks.  This is the intro page. Then you are on the recommendations page.  You need to follow 5 people.  You can always skip it.  But I just added 5 people anyway.  I selected music  as my category.

After that is the interests page and you have to follow 5 more people (or well know people) as they put it.

Next is the import page and you have to import contacts from 5 sources.  I only did gmail and skipped the rest.  I don't have 5 things to use so I just skipped it.

Now on the last page you have to upload a photo and a profile description or bio if you will.  I skipped this.  I just like to keep private for now until I get more comfortable.

That is it.  After this you are no the main page now and are all set to go.

Making your first tweet?

Now we will cover how to start tweeting.  Remember I've never done this before either.  So I'm learning just like you are.

First we need to go back the main page.  On the top right click compose new tweet.

Now we need to say something.  Remember to keep it under 140 characters max.  I said:

I know not very original but for a very first tweet good enough.  Now the second tweet will be to look at my cousin blog (same info and theme, just all one page instead of different sections like here).  And the third tweet will be to look at this blog.

While making the third tweet I forgot to include this address.  So I hit expand and added it in.  See above photo.

I've never tweeted before so this is my first time.  So please be patient with me.

I know it is confusing , but I know I'm not alone.  Anyhow here is what I've learned so far.

• Can I have more than one twitter account?

1. It appears that you are allowed more than one twitter account.  Just use a different email address.

• How long is my tweet allowed to be?

1. Your tweet can be 140 characters max.  I know this is very limiting but I think  that is the whole point of the tweet.  The first four sentences here are exactly 140 characters.  Including the spaces, 3 periods, and the one question mark.

• How long can my screen name be and do I have to use my real name?

1. Your user name can be 15 characters max and your real name can be 20 characters max.  And many sites say the user name does not have to be real.
